Project Background
Located in central Uganda, this 20,000 Birds Poultry Farm utilizes an advanced
A-type layer cage system, marking it as a modern and innovative egg production facility. Uganda, a key agricultural country in East Africa, has witnessed a significant rise in poultry farming over the past decade. The demand for quality eggs continues to grow, fueled by population growth and increased urbanization. Established in 2022, the farm is committed to producing fresh, safe, and high-quality eggs for the local market, positioning itself as a leader in Uganda's growing poultry industry.
Client Needs
Abdullah, the farm owner, recognized that while his farm had been growing steadily, traditional poultry farming methods were reaching their limits. The rising consumer demand for quality eggs, driven by Uganda's rapid economic growth, required him to scale production quickly and efficiently. His key objectives were to improve production efficiency, reduce labor and operational costs, and optimize the overall welfare of his hens.
After conducting extensive market research on modern poultry farming systems, Abdullah decided that a cage system would provide the best return on investment. He sought out our services because of our proven track record in designing and implementing advanced layer cage systems tailored to specific farm needs. His choice for an A-type layer cage system was driven by its ability to maximize space utilization while ensuring the well-being of his flock.
Solution Provided
We provided Abdullah's farm with a complete A-type layer cage system, designed to meet the demands of his 20,000 bird operation. The system offers the following key benefits:
High-Density Farming: Each set of this A-type chicken cages for layers can accommodate 160 birds, for 20,000 layers farm, 126 sets will be set up, which significantly increasing the stocking density. This allows Abdullah to house more birds in a 88*12m chicken coop, maximizing the efficiency of his farm's infrastructure.
Automatic Feeding System: The inclusion of an automatic feeding system ensures that the hens receive balanced nutrition consistently, which contributes to improved egg quality and reduces feeding time and labor costs. This automation allows the farm workers to focus on other essential tasks.
Manure Cleaning System: Our advanced manure cleaning system regularly removes waste from the cages, maintaining a cleaner and more hygienic environment for the hens. This helps reduce the risk of disease outbreaks, ensuring the health of the flock and improving overall productivity.
In addition to supplying the poultry layer cages poultry equipment, we provided hands-on training for Abdullah's staff to ensure that they could operate the new systems proficiently and maintain the farm's new, more efficient operations.
Project Implementation
From production to installation, the entire process took approximately three months. This included manufacturing the
A-type chicken cages for layers, arranging the logistics for shipping to central Uganda, and completing the installation on-site. Though there were some minor challenges during the setup phase, our technical team was on hand to resolve any issues quickly, minimizing delays. Abdullah was actively involved in the process, ensuring that everything was tailored to the specific needs of his farm.
By collaborating closely with the farm's management and workers, we were able to complete the project on time, and Abdullah was able to begin utilizing the new system immediately. The improved workflow and higher density of hens in the poultry layer cages led to a noticeable increase in egg production soon after the system was operational.
Client Feedback
Since the A-type layer cage system has been in operation for nearly three months, Abdullah has reported impressive improvements. Egg production has increased by 35%, and labor costs have decreased by 15% due to the efficiency of the automated feeding and manure cleaning systems. Abdullah remarked, “The A-type chicken cages for layers have not only improved living conditions for the hens but also enhanced the quality of the eggs. The automation has saved us both time and money.”
Abdullah is already planning further expansions to his farm, with the intention of increasing its capacity and investing in more automation. He believes that modern farming techniques are the future of Uganda's poultry industry and is eager to continue improving his farm's operations.
